Who is at risk for age-related eye complications?

	People over 55: The older a person is, the more the person's eyes have been exposed to sunlight. With our bodies often lacking nutrients, we may have less ability to fight free radicals as we grow older.
	Women: Due to hormonal changes after menopause, women have more risk of developing certain age-related eye complications than men in the same age range.
	People with light eyes: People with light-coloured irises are more likely to develop eye complications. It is thought that this higher risk might also have to do with lifetime exposure to sunlight.
	Smokers: Studies have shown a connection between smoking and the development of age-related eye complications.
